Empty Bowls Day

Empty Bowls Day, Sunday, February 28, 2010 was an absolute blowout success! We had 350 bowls, twice as many as last year and sold almost every single one. We also had twice as much delicious locally donated soup and innumerable baskets of good bread from Publix. And we ran out of everything by noon anyway! Few glitches - line too slow - but all will be addressed next year. We also made twice as much money this year - way over $8,000 for St. Mary's Episcopal Soup Kitchen and the Treasure Coast Food Bank for other Martin County Soup Kitchens! So we are all happy as can be today and looking forward to making more beautiful bowls next year and involving our artists and restaurants and even more of our community in a great project.
